Frequently asked questions
Q.What tickets are there and what do they cost?
The main one is the 1-Day Passport (entry + ~40 facilities): adult (18+) from ¥7,600, junior/high from ¥6,600, elementary from ¥5,000, preschool (4+) from ¥3,800, senior (65+) from ¥5,900 (regular days). There's also an After-3 Passport (adult from ¥5,900), in-park-only 1.5-/2-Day passports and an annual pass; special event days cost more (as of June 2026; check official).
Q.Do I need to book ahead, or can I buy on the day?
Passports and Express Passes are available online with date-based availability (web tickets skip the queue). You can buy at the gate, but the 1.5-Day, 2-Day and disability-discount tickets are sold only at the park's windows. No date changes, refunds or cancellations after purchase (as of June 2026).
Q.How big is it — can I see it in a day?
Huis Ten Bosch is one of Japan's largest theme resorts: European-style brick streets and canals, seasonal flowers by day and huge illuminations at night, shows, ~40 attractions and 5 in-park official hotels. It's so large you may not see it all in one day (check official for the standard time needed) (as of June 2026).
Q.How do I get there from Fukuoka or Fukuoka Airport?
Highway bus: direct from Fukuoka Airport (international terminal), ~125 min, reservation required (2 round trips/day). Train: JR limited express from Hakata ~1h45 to JR Huis Ten Bosch Station (~5-min walk to the gate) (as of June 2026; check official).
Q.Which are the official hotels, and why stay?
Five in-park hotels: Hotel Europe, Hotel Amsterdam, Forest Villa, Hotel Den Haag and Hotel Rotterdam (plus nearby Hotel Okura JR and Hotel Nikko). Perks: buy a passport at check-in and the next day's 1-Day Passport is free (up to ¥5,800 value), priority early entry, free co-sleeping for under-12s, and free guest parking (as of June 2026; check official).
